Britain is in a housing crisis
It is universally accepted that Britain is in the grip of a housing crisis. The government says that 600,000 new homes are needed over the next five years. And yet, over 200,000 homes are currently unoccupied. Many of these empty homes have simply been abandoned or forgotten about.
The Unoccupied Property Action Group (UPAG) strives to bring these empty properties back into habitable condition to provide affordable housing for local people. We believe that part of the answer to Britain's housing crisis is to address the issue of so many perfectly good properties standing empty when there are people ready to make them into their home.
